This should be interesting. Let's delve into the cosmic battle that began before we were even conceived. I warn you, this may seem too much for a weary reader, but I assure you, if you just stick with the plot, you'll enjoy this. It starts slow and then the action kicks in. Are you ready?
According to the scriptures, the issue of sin didn't originate from Adam; it has been in existence before Adam was formed. This cosmic war didn't start after man's creation, as the rebellion of Lucifer and his cohorts occurred before Adam ever took his first steps. Nevertheless, it was introduced to mankind through Adam.
Before it all began, even in heaven, God had already purposed to bring all things—both in heaven and on earth—into subjection through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is not just heaven's response to the fall of man; Jesus was the remedial plan all along, even before the worlds were made.
Ephesians 1:3-12 (NKJV):
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
To reject Jesus Christ is to reject God's eternal plan of salvation for all creation—both in the heavens and on earth—in which God inherits and adopts all things through Christ.
Revelation 13:8 (NKJV):
All who dwell on the earth will worship him (the beast), whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
But wait! Does that mean God knew Adam would sin? The short answer is yes.
However, just as you'll warn your children not to play dangerously around the house, even though you know they'll surely play and may get injured, what you then do before that happens is to have a first aid box ready for when it eventually happens.
You see, while Satan was playing ludo, God was playing cosmic-dimensional chess. Lucifer wanted to rule and be like the Most High, but his plan couldn't be fulfilled in heaven. To reveal the heart of Lucifer to all creation, God created a mini domain and placed a seemingly feeble mankind as ruler in His place.
Isaiah 14:12-14 (NKJV):
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
Lucifer saw the opportunity. "If I can't get God's throne, I can get dominion here." He had always wanted to be "like the Most High," and here was a perfect opportunity to execute his plan over these weak rulers God placed as His ambassadors.
Genesis 3:4-5 (NKJV):
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Well, Satan succeeded in his quest to make man fall and hold onto the dominion of the earth realm.
Matthew 4:8-10 (NKJV):
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”
However, what Lucifer failed to realize was that God had a trump card—a joker, if I may call it that. God Himself would enter creation as a feeble man to execute His plan once and for all.
Galatians 4:4-5 (NKJV):
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Another thing Satan failed to realize was that God had already purposed to die. And because of a cosmic joker Satan didn’t know about, he worked through men to bring the counsel of God to pass. He thought, "If I could kill God's Son once and for all while He became a sinner for taking the sins of the world upon Himself, there will be no one else to stop me."
How mistaken was Satan. Yes, Jesus took the entire sin upon Himself, meaning sin has no hold anywhere anymore. Then Jesus took sin to the cross and died with it. What Satan failed to realize was that Jesus wasn’t the only one who died that day—sin also died.
Satan failed to realize that the legitimacy he held onto was made possible through sin and the law (“the soul that sinneth shall die”), but if sin dies, all its aftereffects die alongside it.
I Corinthians 15:55-57 (NKJV):
“O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, after Jesus and sin had been put to death, the final masterstroke was employed. You see, the first Adam received the breath of God to become a living being. But this second Adam—Jesus Christ—was actually a life-giving Spirit. So how can the giver of life be held by death?
I Corinthians 15:45, 47 (NKJV):
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
Also, how can the one who gives life and is called the Resurrection and the Life be bound by death?
John 11:23, 25-26 (NKJV):
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
So, what happens next? Jesus Christ came back to life, but this time, He held onto all the power and the dominion of all things—both in heaven and on earth. But He didn’t leave humanity without defense. He gave us the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over ALL the power of our enemy, Satan.
Matthew 28:18 (NKJV):
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Revelation 19:1 (NKJV):
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!”
Colossians 2:9-10, 15 (NKJV):
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Hallelujah to our God! If you read all the way to the end here, you're a champ. Wouldn't you tell everyone of this cosmic victory you have in Christ?
Jesus Christ is not just man or a leader or a religious figure. He's the reason for everything. You can't afford to mess this up.
So, what do you think of this war and what will you do with this information?
