CURSES OR BLESSINGS

Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

For every genuine child of God out there, there's just one person who has the final say in your life - God Himself.

Sometimes ago, I heard a Pastor talk about Curses, he gave an analogy that, "if your father curses you, your spiritual father can revoke it, if your spiritual father curses you, a higher spiritual authority can revoke it, and if the higher spiritual authority curses you, God can revoke it. But, if God curses a man, who will revoke it?" The other aspect I'd like to add is that if God blesses a man, who can revoke it?

I was reading through Genesis, where Jacob cursed Reuben saying.
Genesis 49:3-4 (KJV)  Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiled thou it: he went up to my couch.

But Moses having discovered that anytime the Sons of Israel went to war, only the tribe of Reuben records the greatest loss which confirms the potency of a father's blessing, revoked the curse.
Deuteronomy 33:6 (KJV)  Let Reuben live, and not die, and let not his men be few.

And then to Abraham after obeying the Lord in readiness to sacrifice his son,  God said...
Genesis 22:16-18 (KJV)  And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

No wonder when Balaam was hired by Balak to curse the children of Israel God stepped in.
Numbers 22:6 (KJV) Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me these people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

God twisted Balaam's tongue to bless them because "whom God has blessed, no man can curse"
Numbers 23:5, 7-9, 11-12 (KJV)  And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak. And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills, I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether. And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?

That went on three times but the result remained the same.
A question we need to ask is, why won't the curse stand? The reason is given in Deuteronomy thus:
Deut 23:5 But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you.

Beloved, what authority is greater than that of Jesus Christ? It is written:
Galatians 3:13-14, 26, 29 (KJV)  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

It is even written that a causeless curse shall not stand
Proverbs 26:2 (KJV)  As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

So you see anytime you keep praying against the curses of that witch in your village after coming to Jesus Christ for salvation and cleansing in His blood (Except you think the curse is a permanent stain that the Blood can't wash away) it reeks to God of your disbelief in His Word that.
Romans 8:30-31 (KJV) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

If there's ever going to be anyone to lay a curse, it's God Himself
Malachi 2:2 (KJV)  If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

But glory be unto the highest whom neither curses his children nor condemns them as it is written
Romans 8:1 (KJV)  There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 4:6,8
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Why don't you rather glory in his light and see the wonders of His rising.
