Hey there, my lovely readers! 😊
Today, I thought about the stories of David and Joseph in the Bible, and how God raised them to rule Israel and Egypt, respectively. 🤔
It all started with a prayer point that a "prophet" raised, which goes something like this: "Everywhere I've been disgraced before, raise me so I can become their leader." And that got me thinking, am I praying for leadership to show others that I am better than them? 😒
Then I remembered the stories of David and Joseph. Both of them were forgotten and overlooked, but they never let that discourage them. They knew that God had a bigger plan for them, and they trusted Him to guide them.
David could have easily lorded over his family for not recognizing his potential to be king. But he knew that his task was much bigger than that, and he became a great king who ruled the entire kingdom.
Joseph, on the other hand, could have harbored hate in his heart towards his brothers, the Ishmaelites, Potiphar's family, and the winebearer. But he chose to trust God and believed that his hardships were preparing him to be a deliverer of souls. He played a significant role in the unification and birth of the nation of Israel under Egypt's protection.
What I learned from these stories is that our rejections and prayer points should not stem from a heart of "let me show them," but rather from a heart of "the Lord's will alone will be done." Imagine if that prayer point didn't come to pass, not everyone who disdained you in the past would be downcasted by your emergence in the future.
We should forget the past and remember not the former things. We should be like Mrs. Sarah, who said, "God has made me laugh, and all who see me would LAUGH WITH ME." Notice she didn't say they'll see BE DISGRACED or she'll reign over them.
So, my dear readers, remember to trust in God's plan for your life, and don't let past rejections and hurts hold you back. Keep pressing on and believing that He has a bigger purpose for you. Be like David, and remember your Mephibosheth! 😊
